Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term coach Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's initial championship since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children at once, so to get a title is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an improved serve.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game chances in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
