The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
